Saunders (Sandy) Kohan, age 88 passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on August 14, 1926 in Miami, Florida. He was a veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps during WWII and the Korean War. He was a retired Captain with the Miami Beach Police Department and a retired Deputy with the United States Marshals. Sandy is survived by his wife of 13 years, Martha Kohan, daughters, Patrice Mullen (Michael) and children Seann, Christopher and Kathleen Barnes (James) and children Jamie and Saunders, step-children: Cathy Cay Anderson (Dave, Jimmy Elder, and Randy Elder (Lisa Gay), step-grandchildren, Lisa Brown (Wayne), Leslie Bennett, Charles Watson (Sara), Jarrod Watson (Amanda), Shawn McKinney (Christy), Carrie Weeks (Steve), step-great grandchildren, Zach Brown, Cody and Cade McKinney, Cole and Clay Weeks, Chloe, A.J. Chitwood and Santana Padilla, Abbie, J.R. and Travis Watson, Lila and Wyatt Watson and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Florida Avenue Baptist Church in Avon Park on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 11-12 with lunch in the social hall to follow. Final resting place will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
