Sarah (Sally) May Wetherby, age 92, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior Friday, November 6, 2015 in Sebring, Florida. She was born in Wallingford, Vermont to Arthur and Anna Wetherby. She accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of nine, but didn't feel the Lord's leading in any full time Christian work so she went to business college. Upon graduating, she worked in a business office but was heavily involved in her church, teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, summer Bible camp and sang in a trio on her church's weekly radio broadcast. But in due time, she was challenged to give her life for the Lord's service and she applied to the Sudan Interior Mission, praying to become a missionary overseas. But for health reasons, she was not accepted for overseas service, but was asked to work in the U.S. office in New York City. She worked at headquarters for the next 41 years, mostly in the purchasing and shipping departments. Although Sally never got to the foreign mission field, her service at the SIM Headquarters was just as significant. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 11 AM in the SIM Chapel, 900 Andes Drive, Sebring, FL. Contributions may be made in her memory to SIM work in Sudan or SIM Retirement Village at 4114 Nigeria St., Sebring, FL 33875.
