Sarah M. Jacobs Reaves

Sarah Maxalyne Jacobs Reaves, age 85 passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 in Avon Park, Florida. She was born in Tabor City, North Carolina to Henry Herman and Blanche (Waddell) Jacobs. Mrs. Reaves was retired from Medical Records Administrator at Walker Memorial/Florida Hospital, Hardee Memorial Hospital and Highlands Regional Medical Center, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Avon Park since 1960, she was a member of the Hibiscus Garden Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Woman's Club, Historical Society, she loved cooking, gardening, reading and spending time with her family; she had been a resident of Avon Park since 1960 coming from Solomons, Maryland. She is survived by her children-Karen Reaves Kirk, Daughter (Husband: Stewart James Kirk, Jr.); Christopher Daren Reaves, Son (Wife: Lisa Cimino Reaves); grandchildren-Sarah Kathryn Hart (Husband: John), Jonathan Reaves Kirk, Scott Jacob Reaves and Lindsay Smith Warner (Husband: Mike); great-grandson-Nolan James Hart; daughter-in-law-Polly Hilliard Reaves; sister-Bobbie Ward (Husband: Brooks) and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Reaves was preceded in death by her parents-Henry Herman Jacobs and Blanche Waddell Jacobs; husband-Richard Sprunt Reaves, Sr.; daughter-Jill Jacobs Reaves and son-Richard Sprunt Reaves, Jr.; sisters-Josephine Peavey and Mabel Buffkin; brothers-Tallmadge Jacobs and Alton Jacobs. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Bougainvillea Cemetery with Rev. Mike Adams officiating.
