Sarah Mcgregor Higgins

Sarah McGregor Higgins (nee Eveleigh), age 99, passed away in Sebring, Florida on January 28, 2020. She was born in the year 1920 in Glasgow, Scotland to Leonard Eveleigh and Sarah Whyte.

Sarah had been a Highlands County resident since 1986 coming from Sarasota, Florida. She was of Methodist faith and a proud member of Eastern Star. Sarah worked as a secretary in the US Navy during WWII in Chicago, IL. She is survived by her 3 children; Diane Carol Higgins of Okauchee, WI; Pamela S. Hey of Danville, CA; and Donald R. (Virginia) Higgins of Madison, WI; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard & Sarah; sister Ruth Black of Indiana; Richard M. Higgins (1 ^st husband); John Fay (2 ^nd husband).

The family would like to express their gratitude to the many caregivers, Meals on Wheels volunteers, and Good Shepherd Hospice that have touched Sarah’s life, and have been touched by her. A special thank you to Dr. Bassetti for his compassionate care for many years.

Services will be held in Madison, WI at a later date.
