Sarah Noemi Abrams (Aponte) age 52, passed away on Thursday October 9, 2014 in Lake Placid, Florida. She was born on September 1, 1962 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Miguel Angel and Noemi (Febles) Aponte. Sarah had been a resident of Highlands County since 1989 coming from Staten Island, New York. She enjoyed cooking, loved animals especially pets, and she was an avid movie watcher. The love of her life were her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her father: Miguel Aponte, mother: Noemi Aponte, children: Virginia Murphy (Benjamin)-Sebring, FL; David Abrams (Katherine)-Avon Park, FL, siblings: Ivette Aponte; Agnes Reynoso; Miguel Aponte, two grandchildren: Olympia and Athena Murphy. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 16, 2014, 5:00pm, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow beginning at 6:00pm with Reverend Frank Reynoso officiating. Interment will take place on Friday, October 17, 2014, 10:00am at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, FL.
