Sandra L. Meany

Sandra “Sandy” (Dodd) Meany went to glory land on April 1, 2022. She was born November 28, 1947, in Binghampton, NY, to Chester and Jean “Arlie” (Wright) Dodd. In 1957, the family moved to Avon Park, FL. She was a L.P.N. and worked at Lake Wales Hospital for several years. Sandra loved to fish, garden, help people, and she loved her cats.

Sandy is survived by her Sister – Faye Blewett of Avon Park, FL; Brother – Chet Dodd II (Robin) of Sebring, FL; Brother-in-law – Leslie Smith; Niece – Amy Martin (Adam); Nephews – Erick Blewett (Cindy), Chris Smith (Tammy), Jeffrey Smith (Debbie), and Jason Smith (Crystal) all of Avon Park, FL; and several great Nieces and Nephews – Kylee Rule (Levi) of New Mexico, Sydney Martin of Avon Park, FL, Michael Smith (Pammy) of Avon Park, FL, Christa Clifton of Kentucky, and Lacy Smith of Spring Hill, FL.

We found a message Sandy left for us – such a great testimony of her love for Christ and for us still here:

“I always tried to keep a sense of humor and make others smile, especially in my older years. I really learned to love God and serve Him. How wonderful God has been to me, even though I don’t deserve it. After my death, my wish – when I open my eyes – I will see Jesus face to face – It will be more beautiful than I can even imagine. The face of unconditional love, peace and forgiveness – a perfect light – from this dark, dark sinful world.”

Sandra went home and was rejoined with her Parents – Chester Dodd and Arlie (Wright) Panzler; Sisters – Sharon Smith, Sylvia Dodd, and Bonnie Van Gordon; Brother-in-law – Brian Blewett; Niece – Jana Hufton; and her late Husband – Phil Meany. ‘Till we meet again.

A service is set to be held on April 30, 2022 at Living Waters Church of God (4571 Sparta Road, Sebring FL, 33875) with family receiving friends beginning at 1:00PM.
