Sandra Lee Cecil, 80, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, in Sebring, Florida. Born on April 4, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Louise Moniack. Sandra became a cherished member of the Sebring community in 2001 after relocating from Beech Grove, Indiana.
Sandra dedicated much of her life to her craft, working as a custom drapery seamstress, where her talent and creativity brought beauty into many homes. A gifted artisan, she delighted in making Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. She had a treasured collection of teddy bears. She was also an avid antique enthusiast, enjoying the thrill of discovering hidden treasures. She found great joy in gospel music, which deeply resonated with her faith.
A devoted member of St. John’s Methodist Church of Sebring, Sandra was a pillar of her church community, participating wholeheartedly in its activities and events. Her faith was central to her life, and she shared it with warmth and dedication. Sandra was also a spirited Tampa Bay Rays fan, savoring the excitement of attending games.
Sandra will be remembered for her kind and loving spirit, her fun-loving nature, and her unwavering faith. Her presence brightened the lives of those who knew her, and her legacy of love and devotion will live on through her family and friends.
Sandra is survived by her devoted husband, John Edward Cecil; her loving children, Penny Spatt (Tim) of Monticello, IN, Leo Wimsatt, Jr. (Heather) of Murray, IN, and Beverly McTarshney of Indianapolis, IN; her dear siblings, Vickie Dice of Scottsdale, AZ, and Mike Roberts; her two grandchildren; and her five great-grandchildren.
Sandra’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
