Samuel “Sam” Deforrest Peppers, age 89, passed away Thursday, November 21,2024 in Sebring, Florida. He was born September 24,1935 in Addison, Alabama to James Oliver and Willie Mae (Wade) Peppers. Sam was a man of faith, a devoted father and husband who loved his family. He was a mechanic by trade, a businessman, and was involved in the rehabilitation ministry. He served his country in the U S Army and has been a Sebring resident since 1972, coming from Ft. Lauderdale. Sam kept his sense of humor to the very end and leaves a legacy of faith, caring, and butterfly kisses. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mae Jeanne Peppers; Daughters-Regina P. Blackman of Sebring, FL; Tamara P. Sanders (Thomas) of Morganton, NC; Brother -William (Diana) of Basinger, FL; two Grandchildren- Mitchell (Michaella); Rachel; one Great-Grandson – Hudson James; and many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. He is proceeded in death by his Parents; 3 Brothers; and 2 Sisters. The family would like to thank the Good Shepherd Hospice -Violet Team for their compassionate care and guidance. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM with family receiving friends beginning at 10:00 AM at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, Sebring, FL or DC Ranch Ministry, Okeechobee, FL.
