Sally Ann Wakefield

Sally Ann Wakefield, age 86 a resident of Filion, Michigan for over 60 years passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 20, 2018 at her winter residence in Sebring, Florida.  She was born on February 22, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Jerome and Esther Stone.  Sally was preceded in death by her husband David Wakefield, D.V.M. in 2011.  She is survived by her children Susan H. Wakefield and her husband Bill Katz; Kathleen Wakefield-Quirin and her husband Paul; John Wakefield and his wife Debbie; two granddaughters Melissa Schefski and her husband Kenneth and Alexandra Wakefield and her fiancé Hunter Drake. Mrs. Wakefield was a fourth-grade teacher for 20 years for Bad Axe Public Schools.  She enjoyed international travel with her husband, gardening and was an avid bridge player. Private family services were held in Sebring Florida. Interment will be in Chandler Township Cemetery, Elkton, Michigan. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to Thumb Animal Shelter, 2260 S. Elkton Road, Elkton, MI 48731 or St. Jude’s Children Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 in memory of Sally.
