S C Couch

S.C. Couch, 72, of Avon Park, FL went home to be with the Lord on June 26, 2017. He was born on March 6, 1945 in Robinson, Illinois to Manson and Beulah (Smith) Couch. He was a graduate of Effingham High School and Lincoln Christian College. S.C. faithfully served as a minister for over 40 years at churches in Illinois, Indiana and Florida, including First Christian Church in Avon Park, and Eastside Christian Church in Lake Placid. He also founded Save our Servants Ministry, a ministry dedicated to encouraging and supporting pastors and churches all over the country. He was a past member of the Avon Park Noon Rotary Club, Paul Harris Fellow, member of the Ministerial Association, trustee at Florida Christian College, board member at Habitat for Humanity, president of the Avon Park High School Quarterback Club, and announcer for Avon Park High School Football. In 1989, S.C. was named Avon Park Citizen of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce. He was an active member of Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church. While dedicating his life to serving the Lord and others, he touched countless lives. He is survived by his wife, Janet (Eade) Couch; children, Jennifer (Tim) Langston, Jon (Kristin) Couch, Jeremy (Jessica) Couch; grandchildren, Caleb, Tyler, Chase, Jacob, Bryce, Marcus, Lauren, Bailee, and Dylan; and his brother, Robert Couch. He was preceded in death by his father, Manson Couch; mother, Beulah (Smith) Couch, brothers, Don and Fred Couch; nephews, Mickey and Freddie Joe Couch, and niece, Debbie Couch. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 11:00 am at Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at 10:00 am.
