Ruth S. Tubbs

Ruth S. Tubbs, age 83, of Sebring, FL, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at her home.  She was born September 10, 1933 in Chipley, FL to Byrd and Emma (Hall) Sellers.  Alongside her husband, Ruth co-owned and operated Tubbs Bulb Barn and later, TU-CO Peat, Inc. She was a very active member of the Sebring Parkway Church of Christ and a lifelong resident of Highlands County.  Survivors include her husband of 64 years – Leon Tubbs of Sebring, FL;  Sons – Michael Tubbs (Lydia) of Sebring, FL; Randy Tubbs (Sheila) of Sebring, FL; Daughter – Linda George (Ray) of Sebring, FL; Brother – L.T. Sellers of Avon Park, FL; 6 Grandchildren; 5 Great-Grandchildren; and 1 Great-Great Grandson.  A visitation will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Sebring Parkway Church of Christ.  Interment will follow in the Bougainvillea Cemetery, Avon Park, FL.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Compassionate Care Hospice, 2525 Dranefield Road, Lakeland, FL 33811 www.cchnet.net or Mount Dora Children’s Home, 301 West 13th Avenue, Mount Dora, FL 32757 www.mdchome.org
