Ruth Pearce Fulton of Sebring, 96, passed away February 26, 2017. She was born October 8, 1920 in Ft. Basinger, FL to Leland Clifford and Clara Williams Pearce. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Albert W (Chubby) Fulton, in 1997. Ruth is survived by her son, James (Tamara) Fulton of Winter Haven, FL; daughter, Barbara McCarta of Sebring; sister, Patricia Durrance of Knoxville, TN; grandson, Sean (Susan) McCarta of Lake Placid; granddaughters, Christy (Cruiser) Crews of Avon Park; Jody (Bob) Swaine of Sebring, and Erin McCarta (JD Martin) of Avon Park; and seven great-grandchildren. Ruth lived a life full of love and friendship, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. A long career in physical education ensured Ruth’s lifetime of good health and allowed her to enjoy many years of retirement with her family and friends. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sebring; a charter member of the Patriots Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution; the Sebring Historical Society, and was a fourth generation Floridian. Visitation will be Saturday, March 4, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Stephenson Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Ruth Handley and Danny Johnson officiating.
