Russell Edwin Coe, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in Lakeland, FL. He was born on August 1, 1939 in New London, Connecticut to the late Edwin and Doris (Kennedy) Coe. Russell had been a resident of Avon Park since 1972 having come from Winter Park, FL. He served in the U.S. Air Force, worked in the construction of Golf Courses, and was of the Lutheran faith. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed touring, camping, and traveling in the Rocky Mountain States with his brother. Russell was preceded in death by his wife Joann Coe in 1992.Russell is survived by his son: Steve (Janet) Coe of Avon Park, FL; daughter: Susan Coe Bickford of Avon Park, FL; grandchildren: Rusty Coe of Fort Myers, FL; Mattie Coe of Sebring, FL; Chase Bickford and Hunter Bickford of Hendersonville, NC; sisters: Olive Dyer of North Port, FL; Jeanne Newman of Sarasota, FL; and brother: Richard (Vini) Coe of Tiburon, CA. A memorial service will be held at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11 a.m. with family receiving friends starting at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: River Greens Scholarship Fund at: 47 W.
