Roy Baker "Charlie Chip", age 82, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in Sebring, Florida. He was born in Glen Cove, New York on October 23, 1930 to Lee Roy and Irene Marion M. (Johansen) Baker. He was the Owner and Operator of a Fuel Oil Company; member of The Church of The Way in Sebring; member of the Jaycees, Moose, Elks and the NRA. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps and was an avid golfer. He, as a young man raced stock cars and was a member of NASCAR North. He loved life and his family. He was a resident of Sebring since l972 coming from Ft. Lauderdale. He is survived by his daughters, Judi B. (Robert) Washington, Florida City and Denise L. (Richard) Banke, Jesup, GA; son, Warren J. (Linda A.) Baker, Stoneville, NC; brother, Richard Baker; sister, Marilyn Tonning; companion, Beverly White, Sebring; Grandchildren, Richard A. (Monica) Washington, Michael T. Washington, Eric James Baker, Chala Marie (Dave) Cochran, Brett Alan (Renee) Niehaus; great grandchildren, Dylan Hunter Washington and Austin Michael Washington. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Joyce L. Baker and his grandson, William Warner Washington. Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 1:00 pm at The Church of the Way.
