Rose Mary Harrison

ROSE MARY HARRISON Rose Mary Harrison, age 85, of Sebring, Florida, passed away on April 9, 2011. She was born on May 24, 1925 in Mulberry, Indiana, the daughter of Dallas and Mabel (Hurley) Ruch. On July 5, 1945, she married James Harrison, her husband of 45 years, who preceded her in death. They lived in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Maryland, moving to Sebring, Florida in 1979. She was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church of Sebring. Rose Mary graduated from Holland High School, Holland, Michigan and Purdue University. She taught mathematics and English in several high schools, ending her career at Sebring High School. She is survived by two daughters, Paula Byrkett and husband, Don, Oxford, Ohio and Mary Jo Grice and husband Steve, Avon Park, Florida; two sons, James Harrison and wife, Donna, Sebring, Florida and Daniel Harrison and wife Jo Ann, Arnold, Maryland; five granddaughters, Elizabeth Killy, Jennifer Jensen, Kathryn Byrkett, Amy Harrison and Chrissy Harrison; two grandsons, Dustin Harrison and Kevin Grice and seven great-grandchildren, Jessica Killy, Elise Killy, Nathan Jensen, Samuel Jensen, Benjamin Jensen, Kally Harrison and Dylan Harrison. She is also survived by a sister, Ruth Kuipers, Holland, Michigan and a brother, Richard Ruch and wife, Patricia, Holland, Michigan. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 18, 2011, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, Sebring, with Rev. Darrell Peer officiating. The family will receive friends the hour preceding the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, Florida, will be immediately following the service.
