Ronald Dean McKinney, age 65, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013, at his home. He was born May 29, 1948, to Calvin and Hattie (Tilley) McKinney in Beckley, West Virginia, and had been a resident of Sebring since 2004, coming from Monroe, Michigan. He was employed as a Hi-Lo Driver by Ford Motor Company and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the U.A.W. and loved golf, fishing, playing cards and pickleball. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Lynn McKinney of Sebring; children, Kristina Grace Young and her husband Jeff of Michigan and Mark McKinney, also of Michigan; brothers, Clyde McKinney and wife Elvira of Shady Spring, West Virginia; Dave McKinney and wife Margaret of Allen Park, Michigan; Calvin McKinney and wife Arlene from Wyandotte, Michigan; Jim McKinney and wife Glenda of Taylor, Michigan; Wayne McKinney and wife Gail of Mountain City, Tennessee and Johnnie McKinney and wife Barbara of The Villages, Florida; sisters, Louise Blevins of Southgate, Michigan; Jenny Stowe of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Brenda England and husband Ivan of Beaver, West Virginia and Diane Treadway of Shady Spring, West Virginia; grandchildren, Lyndsay Whitwam; Alec Whitwam; Bryson Young; Alison Young; Olivia Young; Tanner Young; Alyssa McKinney; Kyle McKinney and Matthew McKinney. He was preceded in death by his sister, Oakie Meadows of Shady Spring, West Virginia. Cremation will take place and no services will be held.
