Following graduation, Ron moved to Frederick, MD and was employed at Frederick High School as a beloved English teacher and football coach.  In 1967 Ron transitioned to State Farm Insurance Seaboard Region, in Frederick, MD as an Underwriter.  He later became the Agency Training Director and was integral in the program's development.  Ron retired as a State Farm Insurance Agent in 2016.  He and Bonnie spent years building the agency and providing trusted service to his clients in and around Glen Burnie, MD.

A long-time snowbird who fell in love with Florida, Ron became a permanent resident of Sebring in 2016, after spending winters there since 1995.

He leaves behind five great grandchildren: Nixon Dailey, Violet Dailey, Juniper Dailey, Camden Dailey and Archibald (Archie) Dudiak….his namesake, born January 1, 2025.

As an avid sports fan, Ron found great pleasure in cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and Notre Dame football teams. In his leisure time, Ron enjoyed playing golf and was a former member of Holly Hills Country Club, Ijamsville, MD, Harder Hall Golf Club and the Country Club of Sebring, Sebring, FL.  He also had a keen interest in sports cars and attended the 12 Hours of Sebring race for many years.  Ron was often seen at his favorite restaurant, Dutch’s Daughter, Frederick, MD enjoying a delicious crab cake and a glass of Beringer White Zinfandel.  His hobbies reflected his zest for life and pursuit of adventure.

Ron will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  He fought til the end, like his adored “Fighting Irish”.
