Rodney Paul Lane, 89, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011 in Avon Park. He was born in Randolph, New York to Theron Ray and Eva Arlene (Torance) Lane. He was owner/operator of Lanes Records and TV in Avon Park for many years, he served in the Army Air Corp during World War II, he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Avon Park, he was also a member of the VFW, American Legion, Lions Club and had been a resident of Avon Park since 1962 coming from Gowanda, New York. He is survived by his children-Louvern Conklin (Richard) of Avon Park, Rodney T. Lane (Mary) of Avon Park and Peggy Cantley and her fiance Van Haiflich of Lakeland, Florida; brother-Terry Lane; 8 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Lane. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Avon Park with Rev. Bob Johnson officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Avon Park.
