Robert Lee Thompson, Jr.

Robert Lee Thompson Jr., 61years of age, of Avon Park, FL passed away August 22, 2021, due to complications from Covid-19. Due to Covid-19 hospital regulations Bob was unable to have family with him when he passed. Robert was born in Portsmouth, Ohio to Robert, Sr. and Lois Thompson. He moved to Avon Park, FL in 2000 where he was employed by Highlands Regional Hospital as a skilled Maintenance/Engineering HVAC Technician. Bob was survived by his wife of 20 years, Barbara Thompson; daughters, Chelsea and Alison; grandsons – CJ and Luke; brothers – James Thompson (wife Sandy); Matt Thompson (wife Carol); Mark Thompson (wife Rhonda);  sister – Deborah Waddell; Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert  Sr. and Lois; brother -Scott; brother in law- Mike Waddell. Bob was a wonderful husband, father, and friend. He was a dedicated and hard-working man who was always there to lend a helping hand. He had an incredible thirst for adventure and loved more than anything to be in the outdoors, camping, riding his side-by-side and joking around with friends and family. Bob will be missed by many.
