Robert “Bob” Thomas Rabatie, born on November 13, 1928, in Trenton, NJ, to Thomas and Leona Mary Rabatie, passed away on July 16, 2024. A resident of Sebring, FL, since 2013, Robert moved from Miami Gardens, FL.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy Rabatie; his son, Martin Rabatie, and daughter-in-law, Kellie; his stepson, Randy Killingsworth; his beloved grandchildren, Andrew Rabatie. Scottie Campbell, Zac Campbell, Kelsi Campbell; and five great grandchildren. Also, his best friend, Norman Fucini. His beloved dogs, Sheila and Maggie, will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Leona Mary Rabatie; his son, Robert Rabatie Jr.; and his daughter, Sandi Herd (Bill).
Throughout his life, Bob was known for his passions and pursuits. In his youth, he was deeply involved in horse racing, a hobby that evolved into a love for sports cars. His expertise and enthusiasm led him to serve as the Competition Director for the South Florida Sports Car Association (SFSCA) from 1984 through 1998. Not only did he successfully race cars - winning most races, but he also built them, drawing on his skills as a mechanical engineer.
Bob was a man who valued relationships. He was determined, talented, fun-loving, social, and a loving family man. Dancing with his lovely wife brought him so much joy. He enjoyed engaging conversations with his friends and loved ones, always ready to share a story or lend an ear. His intelligence and adventurous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In remembering Bob, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love, laughter, and boundless enthusiasm for the things and people he cared about. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
