Robert E. Thatcher, age 82 of Sebring, Florida, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, in Sebring. He was born on February 2, 1930 to William and Hazel (Crocoll) Thatcher in Saratoga Springs, New York and had been a resident of Sebring since 1988 moving from New York. He was a Truck Driver and the owner of "Stuff N Things" auction in Hudson, New York. He was of the Lutheran faith. He was a life member of the N.R.A., a member of the Churchtown, New York Fire Department. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, served on the USS Coral Sea, and in Korea. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Arlene Thatcher of Sebring, a daughter, Jeanette Kenneally of Schenectady, NY; grandson, John P. Jangrow of Claverack, NY; two brothers, Henry Thatcher of Bluffton, SC and Harold Thatcher of Brandon, FL and one sister, Edna Gamello of Valatie, NY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Thatcher. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
