Robert James Southworth, Sr.

ROBERT JAMES SOUTHWORTH, SR. Robert James Southworth, Sr., age 84, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012 in Sebring, FL where he has resided since 2001. He was born March 18, 1928 in Newington, CT to Albert and Agnes Southworth. He and his family resided in the Florida Keys for many years. He was preceded in death by his first wife Delores Ann Southworth (Lanigan) in 1994, second wife Diana Southworth in 2007 and son James Chester Southworth in 2009. He was a member of the American Legion, Elks Lodge, VFW Post 3880, Masonic Lodge #249 and Mahi Shrine in Miami, FL. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1946-1948. He is survived by his longtime companion Gerry Zuber of Lake Placid, Son - Robert James Southworth, Jr. (Linda K) of Bloomsburg, PA; Daughter - Linda Marie Conover (Neil) of Sioux Falls, SD. Also, Brother-in-laws - Robert Lanigan of Enfield, CT; Richard Lanigan of Palm Coast, FL; William Lanigan of West Granby, CT; Patrick Lanigan of Lewisville, NC; Dennis Lanigan of Palm Coast, FL; Sister-in-law - Pamela McCahill of Winston Salem, NC; Daughter-in-law - Mary Ann Southworth of Arden, NC; 6 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the American Legion, 1490 US 27 North, Lake Placid, FL, at 2:00 pm Friday, July 13, 2012.
