Robert Gordon Sorenson

Robert Gordon Sorenson, born March 22, 1942 in Racine, WI passed away peacefully at home on February 20, 2025, at the age of 82, surrounded by loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Genevieve Sorenson; brother, Louis; sister, Jeanie; and daughter Sheila. He is survived by his loving wife, Cecilia Marie Sorenson; their children, Joseph Sorenson (Deven) of Arizona, Charlie McGovern (Jeanette) of Tarpon Springs, FL, Francine O’Claire (Phil) of Panama City Beach, FL and Donna Merriman (Bob) of Racine, WI; his brother, Joe Sorenson (Shirley) of Sebring, FL; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Robert, moved to Sebring from Racine, WI in 2019 after twenty-five years as a snowbird.  He retired from JICase Manufacturing Company of Racine, WI.. He was a proud member of the NRA and the RBI (Archery League), and he found great joy in the outdoors, spending his time hunting, fishing, and golfing. He had a knack for fixing things and enjoyed tinkering, always ready to lend a helping hand. More than anything, Robert cherished time spent with his family and friends.

In honor of Robert’s generous spirit, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
