Robert "Bob" Scharbert

Robert "Bob" Scharbert, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in Avon Park, Florida. He was born on December 4, 1940 in East St. Louis, Illinois to the late William and Margaret (Mullally) Scharbert. He played football at the University of Illinois and served as captain his senior year. He worked for the Miami-Dade Parks Department for 30 years. Bob had been a resident of Avon Park since 2007 coming from Parkland, FL. He was a member of Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church and an avid golfer. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sherry Scharbert-Avon Park, FL, daughter, Jill Perea (Steve)-Delray Beach, FL, son, Michael Scharbert (Cheri)-Pelham, AL, brother, Bill Scharbert (Joyce)-MO, five grandchildren, Andrew Perea; Lauren Perea; Madelyn Scharbert; Megan Scharbert and Kendall Scharbert, two step-grandchildren, Joshua McLaughlin and Kirkland Pope. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014, 1:00pm, at Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church, Avon Park, FL.
