Robert Reed

Robert Reed, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on September 12, 1929 in Washington County, Georgia to the late Ike and Marie (Cordy) Reed. Robert had been a resident of Sebring since 1971 and a former member of Greater Mt. Zion AME Church. Robert worked for Alico, Inc. for 15 years. He was always a happy person; I guess you could say "He just enjoyed life". "Dad we would give anything just to hear you say hello and see your smile, to sit and chat with you about the things of the day. You were so cherished and you will never know the heartache we feel seeing your vacant chair". Survivors include his daughter, Valerie Simmons (Jeffrey) of Sebring, FL, grandchildren, Tatiyana Simmons; Jeffrey Simmons, Jr.; Ashley Dukes and Candeedress Simmons; Greg Bivens; Barbara Bivens; Gwendoyln Bivens and 10 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, adopted daughters, Sharon Downs and Lokeen Taylor, special friend, Mr. Fleming and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Suzie Mae Dukes Reed, grandsons, Tyrell Presley and Joe Bivens. There will be a funeral service on Saturday, November 21, 2015, 1:00 p.m., at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring with Pastor Lee Manning officiating.
