Robert "Bob" Rawlings, 61, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013. He was born February 5, 1952, in Newark, New Jersey to Robert F. and Alvina (Bonnie) Rawlings. Bob moved to Highlands County from Orlando in 2000 and was employed by South Florida State College in the maintenance department. Running had been a part of his life since his high school track team with Medina High School in Ohio. At the time of his death, he was competing in a 5k race. He also was a member of the Sports Car Club of America. He was an avid fan of all motor sports and football, especially his beloved Cleveland Browns. Bob is survived by his wife DeeEtta (Pinner) Rawlings; daughters Dawn Rawlings of Berea, Ohio and Jacquelyn Rawlings Brannen (William) and grandson Quintum of Sarasota, Florida; mother Alvina (Bonnie) Rawlings and sister Jacquelyn Rawlings of Lake Placid, FL; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert F. Rawlings. The Memorial will be held on April 2, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Episcopal Church, Sebring, Florida. Bob Rawlings, who enjoyed life to its fullest, will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
