Robert "Bob" Perry Leaphart, age 87, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on February 13, 1928 in Desoto City, Florida to the late Joseph Ward and Maggie Matilda (Brown) Leaphart. Bob was a lifelong resident of Sebring and veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant after 20 years. After his military service he worked in banking in Highlands County for more than 25 years. He was a Methodist by faith and a member of the Masonic Lodge 249, Karem Temple, Scottish-Rite, American Legion Post 74, and VFW Post 4300. Survivors include: children: Terry Leaphart (Becky), Stan Leaphart (Gerry), Becky Leaphart Fleck (Chuck), brother: Clyde Leaphart (Betty), grandchildren: Megan McAvoy (Brian), Audrey Young (Chip), Ryan Leaphart (Stacey), Angie Leaphart Spencer (Jon), and Maria Leaphart, and 14 great-grandchildren, Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances M. Leaphart, son, Robert P. Leaphart, Jr., and daughter-in-law Evelyn Heston Leaphart, brothers, Lee, Lew, J.C., Rudolph and J.W. and sisters, Susie, Sarah and Narcie. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring. The memorial service will immediately follow visitation and begin at 2:00pm with Pastor Andy McQuaid officiating. Immediately following the memorial service there will be a Military Honor Guard presentation.
