Robert Harris Mys

Robert Harris Mys, age 80, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015 in Tampa, Florida.

He was born on September 8, 1935 in Tustin, Michigan.

Robert was a U.S. Army veteran. He held a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Detroit.

He worked for General Motors and retired from EDS in 1991 and moved to Sebring, Florida in 2000.

He had a life-long love of golf. He played by the rules and always strived to do his best. He played a great variety of courses and had achieved two holes-in-one.

He was a proud family man, leader, mentor, and hard worker -- he had an analytical mind and a skill with numbers. He enjoyed reading, traveling, music, and food.    He is survived by his fiancee: Joyce M Nye; his children: Michael Mys (Amanda Rachael) - Swartz Creek, MI; John Mys (Pamala) - Shepherd, MI; Tracy Mys (Peggy) - Little Elm, TX; Greg Mys (Joanna) - Spring Hill, FL; his grandchildren: Robert D Mys (Amanda); Kristen Mys; Jude Mys; and great grandchildren: Alyvia Mys, Dante Mys; and his brothers: Carl Mys (Ann); Donald Mys (Bette).  He was preceded in death by his parents: John T and Nellie Mys; wife: Phyllis M Mys; son: Randolph W Mys; siblings: William Mys, Jo Ann Eastway, Joyce Veldhuis.  Services held on January 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM with a visitation beginning at 10:00AM at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with the interment  following in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
