Robert Merl Mann

R. Merl Mann, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on October 1, 1928 in Montpelier, Indiana to the late Harry Lester and Vera Belle (Roberts) Mann. Merl was a veteran proudly serving our country with the U.S. Army. He spent his career as the owner and operator of Merl's IGA Supermarket in New Carlisle, IN. He was a member of New Carlisle United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 297, Terre Coupee Masonic Lodge # 204 and a volunteer fireman in New Carlisle for 20 years. He retired and moved to Sebring in 1993 and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Avon Park. Merl was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Survivors include his children: Stephen (Connie) Mann and Stephanie (John) Lloyd all of Indiana; brother: Arlin (Connie) Mann and sister: Mary Lou Riggs, his companion of several years: Ruth Anna Curry; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Merl was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years: Phyllis A. Mann and his twin brother: L. Thurl Mann. Memorial contributions may be made to: First Presbyterian Church, 215 E.
