Robert James Larson, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, in Lake Placid, FL, at the age of 88. Born on December 24, 1936, in Burlington, IA, Robert's life was characterized by dedication to his family, service to his country, and active participation in community organizations, including organizing the Caladium festival car show for several years in Lake Placid, FL.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Darlene Larson, his daughter Roxanne Hammonds (Micky) of Lake Placid, FL, and son Robert Larson (Wendy). He was a proud Grandfather to a large family that includes seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, who will all carry forward his legacy of kindness. His brothers, Steve Larson and Roger Morse, will all miss him greatly.
A proud veteran, Robert served in the Navy from 1954 to 1957, instilling in him a sense of discipline and patriotism that he carried throughout his life. After his service, he continued to be an active member of both the Elks Lodge and the American Legion, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to numerous community initiatives.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 16, 2025, at 2 pm at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring.
