Robert D Hendricks

Bob D. Hendricks, age 73, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 in Sebring, FL. He was born on August 5, 1941 in Hendricksville, Indiana to the late Walter and Annabelle Hendricks. Bob has been a resident of Avon Park since 1984 having come from Stuart, FL. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was a member of the VFW Post 9853 in Avon Park, American Legion Post 69 in Avon Park, Loyal Order of Moose in Avon Park, the Florida Retail Grocers, and he served as a past treasurer for the Avon Park Chamber of Commerce. Bob owned and operated Hendricks Corner in Avon Park for 27 years. He enjoyed fishing, helping his wife prepare fundraising dinners at the Moose Lodge to benefit the Moose Heart Orphanage and Moose Haven Retirement Home. He was proud of his Moose Fellowship Degree. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years: Lillian Hendricks, son: Bobby Hendricks of Avon Park, grandchildren: Rachel Cox of AK, Robbie Hendricks of Lake Wales, sisters: Norma Neal of Winter Haven, and Connie Scott of Lebanon, IN. A visitation will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park, with a funeral service to follow at 5 p.m. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the service at the VFW of Avon Park.
