Robert Lee Hayes formerly of Mineola, Texas died peacefully on July 23, 2016 under hospice care at Sunny Hills Assisted Living Facility, Sebring, Florida. He was born in Camden, Arkansas on April 3, 1930. 'Bob' was a son of the late Algie and Maylee Hayes of Mineola and grew up there. He was a graduate of Mineola High School and held a B. A. Degree from Texas Christian University, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta. After serving in the U. S. Air Force, Bob began his career as a clinical psychologist at the state hospital in Rusk, Texas, where he had been president of the Rotary Club. He had resided in Florida for many years, working for the State of Florida as a clinical psychologist and guidance counselor. He held a Master's Degree from the University of Florida. Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Benny Hayes. Surviving are a brother, Dr. David W. Hayes (Sue) and nephews, Michael Robert Hayes (Michele) and Patrick David Hayes (Susan). Graveside services will be announced in Mineola at a later date.
