Robert “Bob” Carl Fritze, of Sebring, Florida, went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born on April 10, 1939, in Newark, New Jersey, to the late Carl and Ann Fritze. Bob graduated from Coxsackie-Athens High School in 1957 and enlisted in the USAFSS.
Bob was a proud, patriotic veteran who served his country with honor from 1957 to 1961. He was stationed in Texas, Mississippi, California, and Turkey. He served as an elder at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Cairo, New York. He was also a volunteer fireman and president of the Cairo Hose Company. After retiring from IBM, he and Louise became snowbirds for several years, then in 2012 they moved permanently from Cairo to Sebring. He became a member of Faith Lutheran Church, and he served in many capacities there. He was a man of strong faith who showed it by his actions. In 2023, the church presented him with a Good Samaritan Award for his selfless nature in the community.
One of his many hobbies was traveling in his camper with his late wife Louise, exploring Alaska, both coasts and all places in between. He also enjoyed sailing, as he was a certified boat captain. One of Bob's favorite things to do was to tinker. He had an analytical mind and enjoyed the challenge of building and repairing things. He was also a dedicated member of The Republican, The Tea Party, and the Tanglewood Model Yacht Clubs.
Bob was a wonderful friend, husband, and father. He will be remembered for his selflessness, compassion, bravery, and integrity. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
