Robert (R.L.) Fletcher of Avon Park, Florida passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 11, 2013. R. L. was born in Ft. Meade, Florida in 1928. He was preceded in death by his mother Leola (Ward) Fletcher, father William A. Fletcher, previous wife Mary Ellen (Mills) Fletcher, daughter Brenda (Fletcher) Perry and brother James Alton Fletcher. He is survived by Jan (Janes) Fletcher his wife of 18 years, his son Doug Fletcher (Anita) of Avon Park, Florida, daughter Marion Chungo of Middleburg, Virginia, daughter Kim (Donnie) Richards of Brooksville, Florida, daughter Louise (David) Venable of Brooksville, Florida, sister Helen Grossman (Oscar) of Sandy Creek, N.Y., brother William E. Fletcher (Wanda) of Blackshear, Georgia, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. R. L. graduated from Frostproof High School and served in the United States Navy during Peacetime. He has resided in Avon Park since 1954. He retired from the Florida Power Plant in Avon Park, Florida and was the owner/operator of Fletcher Groves in Crewsville, Florida. There will be a viewing on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, 798 CR17A South, Avon Park, Florida. Pastor Charles Pausley will be officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Stephenson -Nelson Funeral Home is in charge of services.
