Robert “Gary” Day, 73, of Sebring, Florida, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Gary was born on September 13, 1953, in Bartow, Florida. He graduated from Fort Meade High School and attended Oak Park Baptist Church in his younger years. He lived in Highlands County for approximately 32 years. Prior to moving to Sebring, he and his wife, Patsy, built a home in Wauchula, Florida. Gary retired from the Hardee County School District, where he served as Chief Mechanic. He loved fishing, working in the yard, and was always willing to help others when they needed a mechanic. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to lend a helping hand. He was preceded in death by his father, William Harvey Day .Gary is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patsy (Bray) Day; his son, Cole Justin Day; his mother, Yvonne Parker Day of Fort Meade, Florida; his brother, David Day and wife Wanda of Wauchula, Florida; sisters-in-law Sylvia Greenlee of North Carolina and Gloria Dunagan and husband Larry Dunagan of Homestead, Florida. Gary will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him
