Rita L. Palmer

RITA L. PALMER Rita L. Palmer, 88, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Monday, July 25, 2011, at her home. She was born April 27, 1923, to Ernest A. and Anna (Kelley) LaValley, in Troy, New York, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1988, coming from Ft. Pierce, Florida. She was a homemaker; served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Avon Park. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Huff of Sebring; sons, Thomas E. Palmer, Okeechobee, FL and Matthew Palmer, Shallote, NC; sister, Virginia Turko, North Kingstown, RI; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., with a Wake and Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring. A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, with Father Gerald Grogan officiating. Interment at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, will be immediately following the service.
