Rita Kay McPherson, Nee Kendall, 84, of Sebring, Florida died Thursday, November 6, 2025 at her home. She was born August 4, 1941 in Mitchell, Indiana and is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse & Luly Kendall, siblings Bill, Burk, Margie and Bobby.

Rita is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Morris; her three children Roger (Renee) McPherson, Judi Enix, Dawn (Tom) Binzen, Nine grandchildren, James (Lauren) Enix, Kristen McPherson, Joshua (Sarah) Enix, Kara (Tyler) Crow, Alyssa Enix, Alex Binzen, Grace Binzen, Max Binzen, and Ella Binzen. She is also survived by four great grandchildren, Katie Crow, Maverick Enix, Jack Crow, Madelyn Enix. And a special mention to Joey Hammerquest who she loved like a son.

Rita was called Kay by her close family and Illinois friends as she resided in Elwood, Il most of her adult life. She loved her family, especially the babies. She used her sewing talent to make each grand child a quilt and also sewed costumes and doll clothes. She made Christmas dresses for her daughters when they were young. Kay use to plant her vegetable garden and canned most of her crops. She loved animals of all kinds and would often tend to them in her home, with anything from piglets to turkeys.

Rita and her husband Morris collected Classic cars and could be found most weekends at a car show or a cruise night. Rita and Morris met as teenagers and married soon after. From a humble beginning they built an amazing life that inspired their children that with hard work and dedication anything is possible.

A special thank you to the caregivers, Linda, Esther and Melissa, that provided amazing care for Kay. We are forever grateful.

Kay was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all.

Services will be held Monday November 10th with a visitation to begin at 12:30 pm and a service to begin at 1 pm. Burial will take place at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
