Richard J Mobbs

Richard Mobbs, age 86, passed away on June 29, 2021. He was born in Essex Center on May 12, 1935, son of the late Benjamin and Gladys (LaBelle) Mobbs.

Richard attended school in Jericho Center. He worked on the farm for many years when he was younger and then worked for Adams, Quicksilver and Grossman’s (part time).  He also served in the National Guard in Vermont.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed watching old westerner movies and taking rides around the block to visit his brothers.

He is survived by three brothers, Raymond Mobbs, Robert & Gloria Mobbs, Lawrence Mobbs and his longtime companion Sharon Bourne, and sister Marie (Mobbs) Bruley and her spouse Rick Bruley.  Madeline Mobbs (sister-in-law). He has several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Gladys, Edward and Ann Mobbs (brother and sister-in-law), Kathleen Mobbs (sister) Shirley (Mobbs) Yost and Conrad Yost (sister and brother-in-law), Francis Mobbs (brother), James Mobbs (brother)

There will be a family & friends gathering on July 6, 2021 from 5 pm until 6pm at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home at 111 East Circle Street Avon Park, FL 33825. Phone 863-453-3101.
