Richard "Dicki" Eugene Long, age 71, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in Sebring, Florida. Mr. Long was born in Davenport, Iowa on September 14, 1942 to Kenneth Harold and Marian Arlene (Ditto) Long. Mr. Long was an automotive painter with International Harvester (Navistar), he served in the United States Navy, member of Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church, and he coached in the Girls Softball League and had been a resident of Avon Park since 2000 coming from Springfield, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 24 years-Carol Long of Avon Park, Florida; daughter-Terri Lynn Gerber (Mike) of Kendallville, Indiana; sons-Todd Allen Herendeen (Angel) of Panama City Beach, Florida and Troy Evan Herendeen (Cindy) of Defiance, Ohio; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Sunday, May 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church with Rev. George Hall and Rev. S.C. Couch officiating.
