Richard D. Robinson

RICHARD D. ROBINSON Richard D. Robinson, 80, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010, in Sebring. He was born May 29, 1930, to Howard and Irene (Young) Robinson in Monon, Indiana, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1997, coming from Lafayette, Indiana. He was the owner and operator of The Athlete Sporting Goods in Lafayette and in 1948 he was a state championship basketball star. He was a member of Congress Street Methodist Church in Lafayette and attended St. John United Methodist Church in Sebring; was a lifetime member of the Elks and a member of the Mens Association of the Golf Hammock Golf and Country Club. He is survived by his wife, H. Irene Robinson of Sebring; daughter, Jennifer Fortner, Plano, IL; sister, Bev Cooper, Brookston, IN; brother, Tom Robinson, Lafayette, IN; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tamara Robinson in 1973. Memorial Services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring, Rev. Ron Degenaro officiating. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to The American Cancer Society.
