Richard Luis Anthony Bruzzese, age 61, passed away on Thursday February 4, 2021 in Lake Placid, FL. He was born on November 13, 1959 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Giro and Jennie (Toia) Bruzzese. He had been a Lake Placid resident since 2000, formerly living in New York. Richard worked as a carpenter in the construction industry and was a very talented carpenter. He enjoyed playing golf, listening to music, cooking, and dancing. Everything he set his mind to he excelled in - whether it was sports, a musical instrument, or video games. Most of all, he enjoyed and loved his family very much. He is survived by his loving wife – Sonia; children – Thomas Bruzzese of New York; Richard Christopher Bruzzese (Jacqueline) of Georgia; Lea Bruzzese (Jesse Zuniga) of Lake Placid, FL; sisters – Joyce Barrett of NJ; Theresa Bruzzese of NJ; Jennie Jo Bruzzese of Staten Island, NY. Surviving are also 3 grandchildren – Elijah Riojas, Catalina and Manuel Zuniga. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held in his honor from 3:00pm-6:00pm on Saturday February 13, 2021 at Stephenson Nelson Funeral Home 4001 Sebring Parkway, Sebring, FL. The service will also be streamed on Facebook live.
