Rhoda A. Straw

Rhoda A. (Wert) Straw, 76 passed away at home on Sunday, April 1, 2012 in Harrisburg, PA. She was born in Harrisburg, PA on February 2, 1936 to John Jacob and Elizabeth (Hummer) Wert. She was a buyer for Florida Hospital gift shop, previous member of the Avon Park Seventh Day Adventist Church and had been a resident of Avon Park since 1983 coming from Hershey, PA. Mrs. Straw is survived by her brothers-Paul Wert of Grantville, PA, William Wert and Sam Wert of Avon Park, FL; sisters-Mary Lemkelde of Dover, PA and Maggie Fink of Beverly Hills, FL; nearly 50 nieces and nephews. Mrs. Straw was preceded in death by her husband-Arlington Straw; her parents; brothers-John Wert and Jim Wert; sisters-Betty Snow, Gladys Lay and Amelia Beck. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Avon Park Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Paul Boling officiating. Burial will be in Bougainvillea Cemetery.
