Redmond Pittman Dortch Jr., 86, of Sebring, FL passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016. He was born on September 04, 1929 in Goldsboro, North Carolina to the late Redmond P. and Elizabeth (Johnson) Dortch. Redmond spent his career in the construction industry. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a charter fishing guide in the Everglades. He was a philanthropist supporting the Sheriff Youth Ranch. He was an avid supporter of the NRA, Lorida Rodeo Association and was a volunteer for the Desoto City Fire Fighters. Survivors include his son, John Dortch-Bradenton, FL; his daughter, Jennifer Spencer- Sarasota, FL, his significant other, Shirley Kitchens, three grandchildren, Julia Dortch; Travis Spencer and Trevor Spencer, one great-grandchild, Blake Spencer. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, John Johnson Dortch. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, July 3, 2016, 1:00 pm, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring.
