Raymond L. Martin

Raymond L. Martin, age 72, of Babson Park, Florida passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Lake Wales Medical Center. He was born February 4, 1944 in Columbia, South Carolina to William F. and Lucy M. (Duffie) Martin.  Raymond was a lifelong resident of the Lake Wales area graduating from Lake Wales Senior High School. He was a proud Veteran serving in Viet Nam with the United States Army.  He spent his career as a Sales Representative for Raybestos Brake Company. A member of the American Legion, he loved to fish, hunt, work in his garden and was an avid Gator fan.  Raymond was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Karen A. Martin, mother, Lucy M. Martin of Saluda, SC, daughters, Allison Martin of Salisbury, NC; Kristi Beaudua (Matt) of St. Augustine, FL, sisters, Estelle Sullivan (Larry) of Frostproof, FL; Patricia Harmon (Callie) of Saluda, SC; Amy Hart (Sam) of Winter Haven, FL, brother, Bo Martin (Nancy) of Lexington, SC, six grandchildren, James; Laila; Lincoln; Killian; Alex, and Khai. He was preceded in death by his father, William F. Martin. There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at 11:00AM with the visitation one hour prior to the service at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Ron Scott and Lowell Piper officiating with Military Honors to follow.  Interment of cremains will be in Lake Wales Cemetery at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
