Raymond R. Kane

Raymond R. Kane, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in Tampa, Florida. He was born in New York, New York on November 1, 1922 to William J. and Anna D. (Truedell) Kane. He was retired from the US Navy, serving in World War II. He was a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service; he was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church; a lifetime member of the VFW; member of Elks Lodge of Sebring, the AM Vets and the Knights of Columbus of Sebring He was a resident of Sebring since 1992 coming from Knoxville, Tennessee. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen (Keith) Tucker, AR; step-son, Robert Chenoweth, Melbourne, FL; step-daughters, Linda Dockery, Ashville, NC, Diane Thibodeau, Sebring, FL and Rebecca Chenoweth, Knoxville, TN; sister, Alice Desmond, Long Island, NY; 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. Kane and step-daughter, Patricia Diehl. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 9:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Deacon Max Severe officiating. Interment will follow in Bougainvillea Cemetery, Avon Park, FL.
