Ray Carroll

Ray Carroll, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in Avon Park, FL. He was born on March 24, 1927 in Barbour County, AL to the late John and Clara (Cox) Carroll. Ray had been a resident of Avon Park since 1953 having come from Troy, AL. He worked for Ben Hill Griffin as a mechanic at the packing house in Frosptroof, FL. Ray is survived by his children: Patricia (Willard) Rushing; Johnnie (Janet) Carroll; Danny Carroll; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Janie Ruth Stubbs Carroll. A Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park. Burial will follow at the Bougainvillea Cemetery.
