Randle “Randy” Lee Smith, age 91, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 in Sebring, Florida.  He was born May 16, 1932 in Mabank, Texas to the late Ernest T. and Iva Birdie Lee (Hillis) Smith.  Randy had been a resident since 1999 coming from Marathon, FL and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army.  He served during Vietnam and Korean, had 384 jumps, and received the Purple Heart, Air Medal, and Bronze Star.  Randy was a member of the VFW, Moose, Purple Heart, MOAA, and a lifetime Mason.  In his free time, Randy would build boats and was a woodworker.  As he loved archery, he would also build bows.  Randy loved to travel, sailing, loved life, and touched the lives of all who knew him.  Randy is survived by his Wife – Bonnie Sue Deavers; Son – Patrick Smith Barnett; Daughter – Jacquie Smith McCray and husband Kevin McCray; Step-Children – Missy Deavers and Sammy Deavers; Sister – Carol N. Jones; Nephew – Rick Shouse; Niece – Debbie Mikowski; six Grandchildren and four Great-Grandchildren.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his Sons – Tommy Smith and Danny Smith; Brothers – Charley Ira Smith and Ernest Allen Smith.  A memorial service will be held Monday, January 8, 2024 at 11:00am at VFW of Sebring, 1041 Lakeview Dr., Sebring, FL  33870.
