Ralph W. Lewis, 79, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Monday, December 17, 2012, at his home. He was born March 30. 1933, to George W. and Matilda (Bodendorfer) Lewis, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1991, coming from Plantation, Florida. He was employed as a truck driver for 45 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1953-1955. He was of the Lutheran faith and a member of the American Legion; Moose Club; VFW and Eagles. He was an avid, lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates; an avid hat collector and enjoyed model trains and working in the yard. He was preceded in death by his wife, J. Carol Lewis and is survived by his daughters, Ramona Kent of Sebring and Linda Perham of Palm Beach County, FL; son, Ralph W. (and Anastasia) Lewis of Sonoma County, CA; sister, Dolores J. Lecomte, New Castle, PA; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring, with Chaplain Ken Geren officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. Entombment at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, FL, will be immediately following the service. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Cornerstone Hospice, 2590 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven, Florida 33881.
