Phyllis Joan Newton

Phyllis Joan Newton, 87, of Sebring, FL, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017.  She was born on August 13, 1930 to the late Loren and Hazel (Ply) Rife in Wabash, IN.  Having been a resident since 1994 coming from Mansfield, Ohio, Phyllis was of the United Methodist Faith.  She enjoyed work puzzles and watching TV.  She was always ready to get out and go places. She especially loved her family.  She is survived by her children: Sandra Newton of Sebring, FL; Brian Newton (Betty Jo Hall) of Arcadia, FL; Dale Newton of Sebring, FL; siblings: Dorothy Shroyer of Lake Wales, FL; Mary Norris of North Manchester, IN; Jim Rife of Manchester, IN; sister-in-law: Berta Lea of Hutchinson, KS; granddaughter: Quinlan Newton and great-granddaughter: Cassidy Hall.  She is preceded in death by her husband Claude E. Newton.  Memorial services will take place Friday, December 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring, FL with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
