Phyllis J. Amos, 76, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 in Sebring, Florida. She was born in Dexter, Maine on August 17, 1941 to the late Gerald and Iva Harris. She had been a resident of Avon Park since 1990 where she was a member of the Avon Park Seventh-day Adventist Church and worked as the medical staff coordinator at Walker Memorial Hospital and Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center in Sebring until her retirement in 2003.
She was ever-present supporting her church’s social, fundraising, and outreach programs. Her love for scrapbooking evolved into a passion developing amazing, custom, three-dimensional greeting cards for friends, family, and the community including the Rotary Club.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Tom Amos of Avon Park, sons Brent Amos of Knoxville, Tennessee, Kurt Amos of Sugar Hill, Georgia, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Avon Park Seventh-day Adventist Church with visitation beginning at 5:30 p.m.
